I finally found Rock 'Em Sock 'Em Robots! I frequent thrift stores once or twice a week to purchase used board games, and there they were, still in the box with a 1.97 price tag. I busted out my trusty Swiss army knife and cut the tape on the box to see if the game was complete, and sure enough, all of the parts were there.
When I got it home to assemble it, I ran into a problem. The poles holding the ropes were all twisted together, so I had to fiddle with them for about 15 minutes to get them unwound, but it became a thing for me to conquer, and I was determined to set up the robots. I also had some trouble figuring out how to assemble to robots, and there weren't any instructions, but this too was just part of the puzzle, and I eventually was rocking and socking my robots. The first thing I noticed was that one of the robots seemed to get his head knocked up with only a few punches, while the other one could withstand an entire assault to the face without losing his lid. Overall this was a pretty fun toy, and while some people have complained about the size of this Mattel reproduction of this classic toy, I had a great time with it, and I am saving it to play with my kids when they get a little older.
It really was a lot of fun, and I would recommend it for a great novelty item.
